The Fun in Rising Sun “Motor Meet Cruise-in” will take place on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 5-8pm in downtown Rising Sun. The event is free and open to the public. Owners of classic and collectible cars, trucks, and motorcycles are invited to attend.
“We’re excited to announce that the tourism board of directors has moved forward with scheduling two cruise-ins for 2026,” said Kendal Miller, executive director of Ohio County Tourism, Inc.
Miller explained that beautiful backdrop of historic downtown Rising Sun along with the popularity of cruise-ins across the local area have become a good fit for Ohio County Tourism. Her organization invites everyone out to a fun, laid-back event filled with camaraderie, chrome, and community charm.
There are no entry fees for vehicles or admission for spectators. The event is sponsored in part by an Arts Project Support Grant from the Indiana Arts Commission and Columbus Area Arts Council Region 9.
The evening will feature oldies music by Cincinnati emcee/deejay J.D. Hughes with WGRR radio, and youth arts/craft vendors. Additional activities will be announced closer to the event.
The second cruise-in is scheduled for September 25, 2026, at the same times. More details will be available closer to the event.
Free youth and adult arts & crafts vendor spaces are available for the May 15 event on a first come, first served basis. Email Kendal at kendal@enjoyrisingsun.com with questions and/or an application.
