The class will feature six inductees.

(Versailles, Ind.) - The South Ripley Community School Corporation is proud to announce the South Ripley Athletic Hall of Fame class of 2026. This esteemed group of individuals will be honored at an induction ceremony on Saturday, February 28, at 1:00 p.m. in the South Ripley High School Auditoria. In addition to the ceremony, the class of 2026 will be introduced at halftime of the boys varsity game against Jac-Cen-Del on Friday, February 27th.
Steve Ahaus
A 1996 South Ripley graduate, Steve Ahaus excelled in basketball, baseball, cross country and track, earning fourteen Varsity letters, eleven ORVC All-Conference recognitions and three All-Sectional honors during his career. A standout baseball player, Steve played baseball at Marion University from 1997-2000. He received an Honorable Mention All-Conference in 1999, and was 2000 All- Conference.
Ted Ahaus
Ted Ahaus was employed by South Ripley for 36 years. During his time at South Ripley, Ted served as the Varsity Baseball Coach from 1976-1988. During his time as the Varsity Coach he earned four ORVC Conference titles and two Sectional Championships. Ted also served as the Varsity Basketball Coach from 1978-1985. As the head coach, he earned three Conference titles and was a two-time Sectional Championship. In 1981, he led his team to a Regional Championship.
Katie Graves Sheets
A 1996 graduate, Katie was a standout athlete in three sports: volleyball, basketball and track & field. She earned All-Conference honors in basketball and volleyball three years in a row including the MVP in volleyball in 1996. In track and field she earned All-County and All-Conference all four years, including two county MVPs and three conference MVPs. She was a regional qualifier all four years and state finals qualifier for two years. "South Ripley educates students today, to become responsible citizens of tomorrow."
Jason Gambrel
A 1992 South Ripley graduate, Jason Gambrel excelled in basketball, baseball, track and field and cross country. Jason earned All-County, All-Conference and All-Sectional in basketball for three consecutive years. He earned All- Conference in baseball multiple times. He contributed to the Track sectional championship in 1992. Jason was a top runner for the Raider cross country team with multiple team victories.
Gary Holdsworth
Mr. Gary Holdsworth was a staple at South Ripley High School from 1968-1999, where he created a music department that rivaled large schools. The pep band, under his direction, was a force during basketball games at Tyson Auditorium. His halftime floor shows showcased the marching band along with the flags and majorettes. Mr. Holdsworth was supportive of all sports and could even be found on the front row of bleachers at Raider games in recent years!
Bob Meyer
Mr. Meyer was employed by South Ripley for 34 years. During his time at South Ripley, Bob served as the Varsity Basketball Coach from 1985-1992. During his time as the Varsity Coach he earned two Conference titles, two Ripley County Championships and a Sectional Championship in 1988. Bob also served as the Varsity Golf Coach from 1982-1986. Bob was drafted in 1972 MLB Amateur Draft for the Cleveland Indians. Bob also served in the position of teacher, assistant principal, and principal of South Ripley High School.
