Southeastern Indiana REMC Awards $46,100 in Operation RoundUp Grants

(Osgood, Ind.) - Southeastern Indiana REMC is proud to announce that $46,100 in Operation RoundUp® grants has been awarded to 22 local organizations during the most recent grant cycle.

These funds, made possible by the generosity of participating members who round up their electric bills to the nearest dollar, continue to make a meaningful impact across the cooperative’s seven-county service territory.

The following organizations were selected to receive Operation RoundUp grants:

• TROJAN YOUNGLIFE, TROJAN WYLDLIFE, AND SE IN CAMPUS LIFE – $2,500
• FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF DILLSBORO – $2,500
• DEARBORN COUNTY CASA – $1,000
• HOGAN TOWNSHIP VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY #1 – $2,500
• NORTH DEARBORN COMMUNITY PARK – $2,500
• SOUTHEASTERN INDIANA MAKERPLUS INC – $2,000
• BROOKSBURG / MILTON TOWNSHIP VOL FIRE DEPT – $600
• C.A.M.P. AT M.C.R. – $2,500
• JENNINGS COUNTY COORDINATING COUNCIL – $2,500
• CAMPBELL TOWNSHIP VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPT – $2,500
• OHIO COUNTY YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, INC – $2,100
• OHIO COUNTY 4-H SHOOTING SPORTS – $1,200
• RISING SUN HS FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCES – $2,500
• MILAN CARES CENTRAL – $2,500
• SOUTH RIPLEY COMMUNITY SCHOOLS – $2,500
• SOUTH RIPLEY HIGH SCHOOL - UNIFIED BOWLING – $1,000
• WREATHS ACROSS RIPLEY COUNTY – $2,500
• AMERICAN YOUTH OUTREACH UNLIMITED INC – $2,500
• RIPLEY COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY – $2,500
• RIPLEY COUNTY TOURISM BUREAU – $2,500
• SOUTHEASTERN INDIANA YMCA – $1,200
• DELAWARE COMMUNITY CHURCH FISHES / LOAVES FOOD PANTRY – $2,000

Operation RoundUp is funded entirely by participating REMC members who voluntarily round up their monthly electric bills to the nearest dollar. Those extra cents — averaging about $6 per year per member — are pooled into a fund that supports community projects, emergency services, youth programs, food pantries, parks, schools, and other nonprofit initiatives throughout Southeastern Indiana.

“Operation RoundUp is one of the most powerful examples of cooperative impact,” said Keith Mathews, CEO of Southeastern Indiana REMC. “When thousands of members contribute just a few cents each month, the result is life-changing support for local organizations that serve our friends and neighbors.”

Organizations located within Southeastern Indiana REMC’s service territory may apply for Operation RoundUp grants during designated funding cycles throughout the year. Grant applications and program details are available at www.seiremc.com/operationroundup.
