(Cleves, Oh.) – The Life Center, in partnership with Whitewater Crossing Christian Church, will host Community Resource Day on Wednesday, June 24.
The free event is open to the public and will run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Whitewater Crossing Christian Church (5771 State Route 128, Cleves, OH 45002).
The purpose of Community Resource Day is to bring help closer to home. Many families face challenges accessing healthcare, social services, financial resources, employment support and other assistance because of transportation barriers or uncertainty about where to turn.
There will be several community partners and services on location. Services available include health screenings, behavioral health resources, financial education, employment
assistance, childcare resources, support for seniors and caregivers, developmental disability services, veteran services, injury prevention education, free cell phone programs, and connections to additional community resources.
This event coincides with Picnic in the Parking Lot, which will take place form 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The first 200 children will receive a free lunch. Families can also enjoy games, activities for children, and take-home food bags while supplies last.
The local fire department will also be on-site helping children cool off with water spray from a fire truck. Kids are encouraged to wear swimsuits and bring towels.
Many people know they need help but aren't sure where to start," said Jason Wessel of The Life Center. "Community Resource Day brings organizations together in one place so families can connect with the services they need, ask questions, and begin building a plan for a more stable future."
