(Carmel, Ind.) - Batesville senior Jon Moody rounded out his high school golf career on Wednesday at the IHSAA State Finals.
His two-day total of 77-76 (+9) placed him tied for 31st overall.
Following his second round, Moody was named the recipient of the 2026 IHSAA Boys Golf Mental Attitude Award presented by Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance. This award is presented by the IHSAA Executive Committee to one senior who best demonstrates excellence in mental attitude, scholarship, leadership, and athletic ability during their high school career.
Moody is the fourth person in Batesville school history to receive this award. This marks back-to-back winners of this award for the Batesville Golf program, as senior Ava South (girls golf) won this award in the fall of this 2025-2026 school year.
In addition to the Mental Attitude Award, Moody was announced as a member of the 2026 IHSGCA Academic All-State Team.
This team is made up of only 15 players in the state each year, based on academic criteria GPA, SAT scores, and IHSAA Sectional participation.
Moody becomes the first member of the Batesville Golf program to be named to the IHSGCA Academic All-State Team since Josie Meyer (girls golf) in 2023
