INDIANAPOLIS – Four high school tennis players from Eagle Country have earned All-State honors.
The Indiana High School Tennis Coaches Association recently named their 2023 All-State and All-District Teams.
Oldenburg Academy’s top doubles team of Mimi Wilder and Evelyn Storms made All-State Second Team Doubles. Wilder and Storms advanced through the state tournament to the quarterfinals this season. At the time of their defeat to North Central (3-6,4-6), they were one of the last six remaining teams in the state tournament.
East Central singles star Payton Pies received All-State Honorable Mention. Pies helped East Central to a school record 20 wins and a sectional and regional title. She won #1 singles EIAC championship for the third straight season and was named the conference’s Most Outstanding Player. Pies also became the fastest player in Lady Trojans history to win 50 matches, doing so in just 55 matches.
Lawrenceburg’s Elle McMullen was also named All-State Honorable Mention.
All four players made the All-District 8 Team.
