Milan, South Ripley, Shawe Athletes Earn ORVC Weekly Honors

(Milan, Ind.) - Five student athletes have earned weekly honors from the Ohio River Valley Conference. 

The ORVC Report for December 22-January 3 was released on Tuesday. 

South Ripley's Claire Samples and Shawe Memorial's Hunter Mote are the ORVC Girls Basketball Players of the Week. Samples totaled 67 points, 27 rebounds, 20 steals and 14 assists in four games. She also made an incredible three-quarters court shot in the championship game of the Centerville Tournament. Mote had 41 points, 26 rebounds, 25 assists and 13 steals in four games, including a triple double in a win over South Dearborn. 

The ORVC Boys Basketball Player of the Week is Loren Stiver. The Shawe Memorial star totaled 71 points, 19 rebounds and seven assists over three games. 

In the swimming pool, Milan's Seth Thomas and Taylor Stock are the top performers of the week. Thomas was the top male performer in the ORVC in the 50 Free, 200 Free, 100 Fly and 100 Back. Stock was the top female performer in the 50 Free, 200 Free, 100 Back and 100 Individual Medley.
