SWIMMING

The Batesville Bulldogs swim teams delivered a strong showing Tuesday evening in a road dual meet against Shelbyville, earning a 84–84 tie on the girl's side and competing closely in an 81–95 loss for the boys in the 25-yard pool.

Senior Emma Miller led the way in the 200 Freestyle, finishing third overall, while freshmen Alyssa Cummings and Solara Scheel scored valuable points in both the 50 and 100 Freestyle events.

In the distance races, Harper Beshears and Lily Lang went 2-3 in the 500 Freestyle, providing a key swing of points. Batesville closed the night in impressive fashion, capturing first place in the 400 Freestyle Relay to secure the tie.

Additional scoring performances came from seniors Samantha Adams (100 Backstroke) and Lexi Harris (100 Breaststroke), while multiple relay entries added depth and consistency across the lineup.

Junior Matthew Lambert won the 200 Freestyle, added a runner-up finish in the 100 Butterfly, and helped anchor winning relays. Senior Sam Richardson was a double winner, taking first in both the 50 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke, showcasing speed and versatility.

Freshman Collin Vogelsang placed second in the 200 Freestyle, while sophomore Tripp Hertel and Parker Oldhamcontributed strong breaststroke performances.

The Bulldogs also earned first place finishes in both the 200 Medley Relay and the 200 Freestyle Relay, highlighting growing relay chemistry as the postseason approaches.
