FRIDAY, JANUARY 15

GIRLS BASKETBALL

East Central 63, Batesville 18 (Feature Game) - The Lady Trojans celebrated their Senior Night in style with a blowout win over EIAC rival Batesville. Sophomore Josie Trabel and junior Hope Fox led the way with 18 points each. Seniors Kyla Maxwell, Charsan McCory, Emma Ertel, and Natalie Schnell combined for 11 points. EC improves to 14-3 on the season (5-0 in EIAC). They will play at Lawrenceburg on Tuesday for sole possession of first place in the conference. The game will be heard on Eagle Country 99.3 with pre-game coverage beginning at 7:10 p.m.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Conner (Ky.) 58, South Dearborn 55 - The Knights had a lead in the fourth quarter, but turnovers were their undoing as Conner scored the comeback win. SD was led in scoring by Reece Willoughby with 23 points. Eli Hoffman added 15, Quentin Stevens had nine and Tobie Teke chipped in with eight points.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 16

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Columbus North 42, Lawrenceburg 29 - The Tigers shot only 32 percent from the floor, including 2-12 from three in the loss. Columbus North put the clamps on the Lady Tigers in the second quarter, outscoring Lawrenceburg 13-0. The Tigers were led in scoring by Katie Johnson with 13 points. Kierah Lowe added eight points. 

Batesville 61, South Dearborn 48 - Jillian Bond had 13 points for SD. Zoe Ross added 10 points and Quinn Heizer had nine points. 

Jac-Cen-Del 48, Greensburg 39 

Morristown 57, Rising Sun 37

South Ripley 37, Oldenburg Academy 27 - South Ripley's Rachel Meyer led all scorers with 13 points. Gracie Gunter had nine for the Raiders. 

Switzerland County 49, New Washington 41

 

BOYS BASKETBALL

East Central 46, Franklin County 35 - Luke Collinsworth had a double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Ryan Sehlhorst and J.J. Stenger added seven points each for the Trojans. 

Lawrenceburg 49, North Decatur 42 (OT) - Dahya Patel led the way with 15 points. Reece Denning had 11 and Ashton Craig put up 10 points in the Tigers win. 

Greensburg 78, South Dearborn 72 (OT) - Lane Sparks had a game-high 35 points. Eli Hoffman led South Dearborn with 27. The Pirates went 17-20 from the FT line in OT.
