JCD's Ledford, South Ripley's Samples Earn ORVC Weekly Honors

Jac-Cen-Del remains in the mix for the conference championship in girls basketball.

(Osgood, Ind.) – As we near the end of the girls basketball season, a Jac-Cen-Del Lady Eagles star continues to impress.

The ORVC report for January 20-25 was released Tuesday.

JCD star Paige Ledford was named the ORVC Girls Basketball Player of the Week. The Lady Eagles star averaged 17.5 points and 14.0 rebounds over two games.

To date, Ledford is third in the ORVC in scoring at 15.0 ppg and second in rebounding at 10.9 per game.

As for the Lady Eagles as a whole, their conference championship hopes are very much alive at 4-0 in the ORVC. Jac-Cen-Del controls their own destiny. They play at South Ripley (3-1 in ORVC) on Tuesday and at Southwestern (5-0 in ORVC) on Thursday.

The ORVC Boys Basketball Players of the Week are South Ripley’s Cody Samples and Southwestern’s Austin Kramer.

Samples had a big week, totaling 41 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and seven steals in two games. Kramer put up similar numbers with 42 points, 14 rebounds, six assists and six steals in two games.
