Eight Student-Athletes Earn Weekly Honors from ORVC

(Milan, Ind.) - Three Milan High School student-athletes highlight the latest list of weekly award winners in the Ohio River Valley Conference. 

The ORVC Report for the week of August 28 through September 2 was released on Wednesday.

Ben Riehle was named the ORVC Runner of the Week, while Elly Potts shared the Girls Runner of the Week award with Ellie Keith, of Switzerland County.

Riehle posted times of 16:48, 17:04, and 16:59 at South Decatur, the Ripley County Championship, and the East Central Invitational.

For Potts, she was Milan’s top performer at the same three events with times of 22:08, 23:16, and 23:25. Keith earned ORVC weekly honors by placing 17th out of 124 runners at the Columbus North Classic. Her time of 21:44 was a new personal record.

Rising Sun’s Jenna Peelman is the ORVC Volleyball Player of the Week. Peelman totaled 32 kills, 8 blocks, and 29 digs with a serve percentage of 96 in two matches.

The ORVC Girls Golfer of the Week went to Shawe Memorial’s Kira Wells. She was the medalist at the ORVC Championship at Butler Falls Golf Course with a round of 83. See the full All-Conference Team below.

Switzerland County’s Cooper Todd took home the ORVC Boys Soccer Player of the Week award after scoring five goals and assisting on another in two matches.

Kyleigh Bledsoe (Milan) and Paige Werner (Rising Sun) are the ORVC Girls Soccer Players of the Week. Bledsoe tallied four goals and two assists in two matches, while Werner scored four goals in three matches, including a hat trick versus Milan.
