The American Volleyball Coaches Association on Monday released the recipients of the 2022 AVCA/Marines Team Academic Award.

(Lexington, Ky.) - Four local high school volleyball teams from southeastern Indiana have earned a prestigious academic honor.
The American Volleyball Coaches Association on Monday released the recipients of the 2022 AVCA/Marines Team Academic Award for the 2021-22 school year.
Batesville, Greensburg, Lawrenceburg, and Oldenburg Academy were among more than 1,200 collegiate and high school volleyball teams to earn the awrd.
The award, initiated in the 1992–93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale.
In total, 425 high school girls volleyball teams were recognized with 25 of those teams coming from the state of Indiana.
Ryle and Scott high schools in northern Kentucky were among the schools recognized.
