Many area high schools earned First Team All-Sportsmanship.

INDIANAPOLIS - With the conclusion of the fall high school sports season, the IHSAA has announced the schools who achieved the state’s highest sportsmanship numbers.
During the last school year, the IHSAA began recognizing schools’ sportsmanship and adherence to the principles of wholesome amateur athletics in a new way.
As part of the Association’s continuing Sportsmanship/Leadership program, school administrators are able to monitor their score daily on the member schools-only myIHSAA website.
Schools that have accumulated 100 points are recognized as First Team All-Sportsmanship and those with 95 points receive Honorable Mention. Scores are based solely on deductions for the fall season, which would include ejections of players, coaches, administrators, and fans.
Local high schools earning First Team All-Sportsmanship honors are:
- Batesville, Connersville, East Central, Franklin County, Jac-Cen-Del, Greensburg, Lawrenceburg, Madison, Milan, North Decatur, Oldenburg Academy, Rising Sun, Rushville, Shawe Memorial, South Dearborn, South Decatur, South Ripley, Southwestern (Hanover), Switzerland County.
Each of these schools had zero ejections during the fall sports season. They are among 214 schools statewide to earn First Team All-Sportsmanship Team honors.
