What Was Found During Versailles State Park Geological Survey? Find Out April 5

(Versailles, Ind.) - Learn about the Native and European history of Ripley County as Ball State University’s Applied Anthropology Laboratories, Department of Anthropology discusses the findings of an archaeological survey of Versailles State Park on April 5 at 7 p.m. at the park’s recreation building.

The presentation will discuss project goals, objectives, and results of this year’s survey and will concentrate on what the artifacts tell us about the human occupation of Ripley County during different time periods. Archaeologists will also have artifacts from the survey available to view and will show a video that highlights their field and lab methods.

The project was funded in part by a grant from the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service’s Historic Preservation Fund administered by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Division of Historic Preservation and Archaeology.

Versailles State Park is located at 1387 U.S. 50 East, Versailles, IN.
