VIDEO: Bald Eagles Spotted On Whitewater River

Green Acres Canoe and Kayak's video of the three eagles is going viral online.

(Whitewater Township, Oh.) – Eagle Country 99.3’s mascot has again been spotted on the Whitewater River.

A trio of bald eagles were captured on video by Green Acres Canoe Rental this week. The eagles were perched on a fallen tree limb just a few feet off the ground.

The business published the video of the protected species on their Facebook page Thursday. It has since gone viral with more than 300 shares, nearly 1,000 likes, and more than 120 comments in less than a day.

Eagles have become a common sight for people taking a canoe or kayak trip down the Whitewater River in recent years.

Conservation efforts over the past few decades have allowed the bald eagle to be removed from the federal and state endangered species list. According to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife, there were a low of four breeding pairs of eagles in the state in 1979. By 2018, that number had risen to 286 breeding pairs which produced an estimated 445 young.
