(Vevay, Ind.) - One painting, so many blessings.
That is the sentiment from Billie's Painting with Purpose after raising funds to support Jeff-Craig Fire Department and the replacement of two life-safety rescue ropes that were damaged during a grain bin rescue in the spring.
The fundraising goal was $2,000.
To raise the funds, Billie Pierce put her painting, "Through Her Eyes" up for auction. A winning bid of $500 was made by Tevin Wooten.
"She was painted in memory of a precious girl, and she carries that story with her. Today her story helped put rescue equipment in the hands of the volunteers who answer when our neighbors need help," said Pierce.
Yoder Gutters then stepped in as a Blessing Partner. Together, the community partners directed $1,535 to Jeff-Craig Fire Department.
Last week, Pierce got to stand with Jeff-Craig Fire personnel and see the ropes her painting helped provide.
