Versailles Woman Receives "Hero Award" After Helping Save Her Mother

(Versailles, Ind.) - The Versailles Fire Department honored a local hero after helping save her mother. 

On Tuesday, Missy Parrott was presented with a "Hero Award" to recognize the heroic actions she took. Missy immediately got help from her neighbors last week when her mother needed rescued after falling into a septic tank under their deck. 

Additionally, she received a quilt from Hoosier Hills Quilts for Kids.

"The Versailles Fire Department would also like to thank the Rising Sun Regional Foundation for their support," says Versailles Fire Rescue. "It was through their grant program the department was able to acquire the specialty rescue equipment utilized during Missy's mother's rescue."
