Two Arrested for Stealing $40K in Tools from Construction Crew

The alleged theft took place in the Dupont area.

(Jennings County, Ind.) - On Saturday, May 23, deputies with the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office learned of a theft that had occurred the night before involving a construction crew in the Dupont area.

During the investigation, deputies located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Through the course of the investigation, both occupants of the vehicle, Joshua Hahn and Kevin Vaughn, allegedly admitted to breaking into a building in the Dupont area and stealing tools belonging to the construction crew.

Deputies recovered approximately $40,000 worth of stolen tools, along with Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. All of the recovered tools were returned to their rightful owner.

Joshua Hahn and Kevin Vaughn were arrested and are currently facing charges including:

  • Burglary
  • Theft
  • Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Paraphernalia
