Versailles Family Welcomes First Baby of 2026 at MMH

(Batesville, Ind.) - Margaret Mary Health proudly announces the birth of its first baby of 2026.

James Montgomery Furnish was born at 6:40 p.m. on January 1 to Stephanie and Matthew Furnish of Versailles. He weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces, and measured 19 inches in length.

After going into labor three weeks early, Stephanie delivered James by cesarean section with the assistance of Dr. Kelley Fitzpatrick. Both mother and baby are doing well.

James will soon be welcomed home by his big brothers, Xavier, Eli and Luke. MMH congratulates the Furnish family on the birth of their son.
