UPDATE: 5-Year-Old Drowns At Hidden Valley Lake

By Mike Perleberg File photo Update published on Monday, June 5 at 6:23 a.m.:  A young girl who drowned at Hidden Valley Lake has been identified. Local 12-WKRC reports that 5-year-old Josephine Ohlhaut died of an accidental drowning on Saturday evening. According to Dearborn County Coroner Dr. Steve Page, Ohlhaut, a non-swimmer, had taken off her life jacket before drowning in about three feet of water. Ohlhault was reportedly in the water for nearly an hour before she was found. She was transported to Dearborn County Hospital where she was pronounced dead.   Original story published on Sunday, June 4 at 7:34 a.m.: (Hidden Valley, Ind.) - A child drowned at Hidden Valley Lake on Saturday evening. Authorities responded to a call of a missing person at the lake's public beach on Longview Drive at around 9:11 p.m. The child was found drowned within an hour. The Dearborn County Sheriff's Department is leading the investigation into the drowning. More information could be released Sunday. The Hidden Valley Property Owners Association has announced that the beach will be closed on Sunday, June 4.
