Suspect Critical After Officer Involved Shooting In Erlanger

The incident happened at Peecox Bar & Grill on Donaldson Highway.

(Erlanger, Ky.) - An investigation is underway into a police-involved shooting in Erlanger.

Kentucky State Police say an Erlanger police officer shot a person around 8:00 p.m. Wednesday outside Peecox Bar and Grill on Donaldson Highway. The person who was shot was flown to UC Medical Center where the individual is reported to be in critical condition.

State police said officers responded to the restaurant for a report of a person wanted on a felony warrant. When officers walked in, the suspect fled out a back door toward a hotel next door.

"Officers were then placed in a situation to which they had to discharge their firearms," said KSP public affairs senior trooper Charles Loudermilk.

Two Erlanger PD officers and a K-9 unit were involved in the shooting. No officers were hurt.

No names have been released.
