(Sunman, Ind.) – The search for a new Sunman Town Marshal is over.
Sunman Town Council swore in Brian Maynard as the new Marshal after a unanimous vote at a public meeting on Thursday night.
Maynard has over 15 years’ experience in law enforcement, and currently serves as Chief of the Sunman Area Life Squad.
He was recommended for the job by Interim Marshal Thomas Grills and other law enforcement professionals in the area.
Grills has served as the town's interim marshal since late January, following the firing of Jason Hoffman. He has agreed to stay on and assist the Sunman Police Department with the transition, which includes hiring a Deputy Marshal.
