Southwest Airlines Introducing Flights To Reds Spring Training

The low-cost carrier announced Wednesday it will begin season service to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on March 8, 2018. The flights will run daily through April 7, 2018. The seasonal flight schedule lines up with Cincinnati Reds spring training. The Reds’ spring training complex in Goodyear, Arizona is only about a 25-minute drive from the airport. “Since landing in Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky as summer began, our local fans have been building our success story by filling our flights in search of low fares and Southwest’s world famous value and customer service,” said Adam Decaire, Southwest Airlines’ Managing Director of Network Planning. “This time-saving service brings Reds fans faster to Spring Training, and also gives our hometown fans in Phoenix, where we offer more flights than any other carrier, a quick trip to Cincinnati.” Tickets went on sale Wednesday. Phoenix is the third destination for Southwest from CVG. The airline began flying from Cincinnati last June with five-day-a-week flights to Chicago and Baltimore/Washington D.C. “We’re excited Southwest is adding service to Phoenix as another option for Reds fans to go to Spring Training,” said CVG CEO Candace McGraw. “Local passengers can also use this service to connect to more than 10 west coast destinations.” The flight schedule from CVG to PHX is below:   Monday – Friday
