(Batesville, Ind.) - Margaret Mary Health, in collaboration with the Ripley County Community Foundation, have announced the winner of this year's Doris A. Brelage Nursing Scholarship.
Calley Kaiser, a 2022 graduate of Batesville High School, received the $1,550 scholarship on July 11.
Kaiser is pursing her nursing degree from the IU School of Nursing.
The Doris A. Brelage Nursing Scholarship was established shortly after Doris, a local nurse and EMS member, lost her life in a tragic accident in 2008. She worked at MMH providing care to the residents of southeastern Indiana for 37 years.
In order to be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be a graduate of Batesville High School, be a nominee from a practicing nurse at MMH, and have been admitted to an accredited nursing school, or be an LPN going on in an RN program to an accredited nursing school.
