(Fort Mitchell, Ky.) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of a traffic pattern change on Dixie Highway (U.S. 25) in Fort Mitchell due to a water main break that has caused pavement damage.
Both northbound lanes between Beechwood Road and Kroger are closed after the roadway buckled earlier this morning. Crews have shifted traffic into the southbound lanes, allowing one lane of travel in each direction.
The Northern Kentucky Water District is on scene managing the water main break, which involves a 20-inch line beneath the highway. The Fort Mitchell Police Department is assisting with traffic control and will maintain a presence at the site.
Motorists should expect delays and use caution while traveling through the area. The duration of the traffic shift is currently unknown and will depend on the extent of roadway repairs.
KYTC will provide updates as more information becomes available.
