(Greendale, Ind.) - Indiana Department of Transportation Contractor Shambaugh & Son LP plans to begin work next week on a $314,000 new signal installation project at the intersection of S.R. 1 and Oberting Rd. in Greendale.
Motorists can anticipate intermittent lane closures and flagging at the intersection as crews install foundations, poles, signal spans, and detection loops. The majority of work will be performed off the road or from the shoulder. Asphalt patching and striping is also expected prior to installation and activation of signal heads this summer.
The contract was awarded in November 2021 with a final completion date of October 30, 2022. Drivers are reminded to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions in and near construction zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
