(Ohio County, Ind.) - Indiana Department of Transportation contractor 5 Star Company, Inc. is scheduled to close State Road 56 between Hartford Pike and Old State Road 56 on or after Friday, January 16, to complete a culvert replacement project in Ohio County.

The closure will take place just west of Laughery Creek and is expected to take up to three days, weather permitting. During the closure, motorists should use the official detour route which follows U.S. 50 to S.R. 262 back to S.R. 56. This closure was previously postponed due to inclement weather.

This project is part of a contract awarded to 5 Star in September 2025. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
