Press release from Schmidt's Bakery (Batesville, Ind.) - Schmidt’s Bakery in downtown Batesville celebrated its annual President’s Day tradition of serving Cherry Thing-A-Ling’s from Thursday, February 15 to Monday, February 19. The final tally is 118,910 Cherry Thing-A-Ling’s sold this year which is the largest ever! In 2017, the bakery sold 82,908 of the tasty treats. The five-day event attracted approximately 5,014 customers in 2018 compared to 4,140 in 2017. Customers came from across the Tri-State and the bakery shipped more than 500 dozen of the Cherry Thing-A-Ling’s to locations around the United States. “This was a tremendous year for us and we are really happy so many people traveled to Batesville and were willing to stand in line for hours,” said Schmidt’s Bakery owner Bertie Schmidt. “I hope everyone enjoyed the Thing-A-Ling’s and I hope to see everyone again next year!” This longtime tradition is scheduled to take place February 14-18, 2019.
