(Hebron, Ky.) - Boone County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle accident Sunday night on Bullittsville Road in Hebron.
The crash took place around 10:34 p.m. when a vehicle operated by a 17-year-old from Burlington failed to navigate a sharp right-hand curve in the road, proceeded left of center, overcorrected, and exited the roadway.
The vehicle struck several trees and overturned.
Front seat passenger, Zachary Snyder, 16, of Burlington, was ejected from the vehicle. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver and two backseat passengers, were able to exit the vehicle on their own and were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries
Preliminary findings indicate that speed is a contributing factor, and neither the driver nor the deceased were wearing seatbelts.
