Robbery Suspects From Ohio & Michigan Taken Into Custody In Florence.

These two men are accused of robbing a bank in Mason, Ohio.

(Florence, Ky.) – Two robbery suspects from Ohio and Michigan were arrested this week in Florence.

Florence Police located a Dodge Charger Hellcat on KY 18 near Mall Road on Wednesday, which was involved in a bank robbery in Mason, Ohio earlier the same day.

The vehicle had also been reported stolen from Michigan.

When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver fled southbound on Interstate 75. The suspects were able to get away momentarily before crashing the vehicle at the intersection of I-75 and Mt. Zion Road.

Florence Police with the assistance of Boone County Sheriff’s deputies were able to apprehend the suspects near Woodspring Apartments.

Both subjects were found to be wearing bulletproof vests and one of the subjects was found in possession of stolen money from the bank robbery in Mason.

Jermaine D. Clark, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, is charged with Receiving Stolen Property, Fleeing or Evading Police, Wanton Endangerment, Felony Assault and other traffic related offenses. Police say Clark has been involved in at least six bank robberies this year.

Steven A. Smith, of Zanesville, Ohio was also arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property, Fleeing or Evading Police, and Wanton Endangerment.

Both suspects were lodged at the Boone County Jail.
