PHOTOS: Bikers Remember Couple Killed In Wreck

By Mike Perleberg Friends of Pete and Mandi Spraul gathered along U.S. 50 in Greendale on Saturday, September 19 to place a memorial near the site of the crash in which the North Bend couple died. Photo provided. (Greendale, Ind.) – Pete and Mandi Spraul loved to ride their Harley Davidson motorcycle. They died while enjoying one of their favorite activities on September 13. While motoring down U.S. 50 in Greendale that sunny afternoon, they were involved in a collision at Greendale Plaza Drive. Pete and Mandi died at the scene. The North Bend, Ohio couple’s friends gathered at the site of the wreck Saturday – six days after the crash – to place flowers and an iron cross bearing the Sprauls’ names. “Although Pete and Mandi Spraul lived in North Bend, Ohio, they were very involved with all of us Hoosiers. He was a member of our local group Harley of Cochran.  They both had friends throughout our community,” friend Toni Scudder tells Eagle Country 99.3. The bikers shared some words of remembrance for their friends, including a eulogy by Greendale resident Tim Halloran. They also prayed for the car driver who had been involved in the deadly accident. Afterwards, the bikers set out on a memorial ride. Approximately 50 motorcycles were not deterred by the rain as they rode to the Sprauls’ final resting place at Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati. Scudder said the group thanks Greendale Police for temporarily blocking a lane of U.S. 50 so the group could ride to the cemetery in solidarity. The photos below are provided by Toni Scudder.
