One Injured, Hay Wagon Destroyed In Ripley Co. Crash

The accident occurred this past Friday.

(Ripley County, Ind.) – One person was injured, and a hay wagon was destroyed in a crash last week in Ripley County.

Ripley County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the accident on County Road 625 E near the intersection of County Road 75 N around 5:00 p.m. last Friday.

Upon their arrival, deputies found a 1997 Jeep Cherokee was on its top in the middle of the roadway.

Deputies say the driver of the vehicle, Triston Harvey, advised that he was running late for work and was traveling at an excessive speed when he swerved to avoid hitting a truck pulling a hay wagon.

The 18-year-old from Milan over-corrected and struck the hay wagon anyway causing his Jeep to flip several times before coming to a rest on its top.

Harvey was transported to Margaret Mary Health in Batesville for injuries sustained. He was also issued several citations.

The other driver who was not identified was uninjured in the crash. However, the person’s hay wagon was destroyed.
