Nine CES Students Recognized at Mayor's Reception for Christmas Essay Contest

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Nine Central Elementary School students were recognized on Sunday evening at the annual Mayor's Reception and Christmas Tree Lighting. 

Each holiday season CES students in 3rd through 5th grade are invited to participate in the Winter Wonderland Christmas Essay Contest. This year, students were asked "Who is your Christmas hero and why?" 

After reading over 300 Christmas essays, Mayor Kelly Mollaun selected the following students as the finalists in their respective grades: 

  • 3rd Grade: Reylin Albright, Averie Finlay and Bradley Wang
  • 4th Grade: Lillian Scott, Jack Berry and Marina Ricco
  • 5th Grade: Selena Baker, Mila Pettit and Paxson Smith

Three winners in each grade received their winning essay custom framed along with a Gift Card as follows: 1st Place $100, 2nd Place $50, 3rd Place $25.

"The essays submitted this year were heartfelt, very enjoyable to read and positive," said Mayor Mollaun.
