National Weather Service Issues a Severe Thunderstorm Warning

The storm is capable of producing wind gusts up to 70 miles per hour.


(Southeast, IN) - The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for parts of southeastern Indiana and southwestern Ohio until 3:45 this afternoon.
The storm was located northeast of Lake Santee at 2:55 and was moving southeast at 45 miles per hour. The storm is capable of producing wind gusts up to 70 miles per hour.
Areas under the warning include Franklin, Ripley, Union and Dearborn counties, along with parts of Fayette County in Indiana. Residents should remain alert for a possible tornado, as tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. For your protection, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building, and if you spot a tornado, go immediately to the basement or a small central room.
