(Dearborn County, Ind.) – Dearborn County authorities say a mother and son duo were behind a series of home burglaries. Dearborn and Ohio County Prosecutor Lynn Deddens says Jeffery Wayne Henderson, 42, and his mother, Bonnie Henderson, 65, were arrested October 26 following the weeks-long investigation. Jeffery Henderson has been charged with seventeen counts of Burglary of a Dwelling (level 4 felony). Bonnie Henderson faces two counts of Burglary of a Dwelling (level 4 felony). Investigators with the Dearborn and Ohio County Special Crimes Unit had been investigating more than a dozen burglaries in the Manchester Township area of Dearborn County since September. Most of them occurred in the daytime hours. On October 25, detectives issued a news release asking the public for information to help crack the case. It was not long before they received information that led to Jeffrey Henderson being identified as a suspect. Police arrested Henderson for a probation violation. They then served a search warrant at his home, where some stolen property was recovered. Deddens said the investigation was led by Dearborn County Sheriff's Detective Carl Pieczonka, Dearborn-Ohio Counties Prosecutor's Investigator Shane McHenry, Rising Sun Police Detective Norman Rimstidt. These detectives are all assigned to the Special Crimes Unit. Indiana State Police and other agencies also aided in the investigation. “These detectives, with help from the community, were able to solve the rash of burglaries perpetrated by these two individuals," said Deddens. Henderson appeared in court Tuesday morning to answer to the newly filed burglary charges. He was ordered held without bond. Bonnie Henderson was arrested Tuesday, November 7. She is awaiting her initial hearing in court. RELATED STORIES: Arrest Announced In Dearborn County Burglary Spree Homes Being Burglarized In Dearborn County
