Heat index values are expected to be around 100 beginning on Monday

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The City of Lawrenceburg is providing an Emergency Cooling Center in response to the expected warm temperatures next week.
The heat index will be around 100 each afternoon beginning on Monday into the middle of next week.
Individuals or families in need will have access to a shelter monitored by Lawrenceburg Police, with air conditioning, cots, blankets and water.
Nine cots will be available on a first come/first served basis.
The Emergency Cooling Center will be staged at the Lawrenceburg Boy Scout Cabin at 461 West High Street. It will open Monday, June 29 at 8:00 a.m. and will remain open until Monday, July 6 at 8:00 a.m.
Please note that there is limited parking availability at the Scout Cabin, also no smoking or vaping is allowed inside the building or within six feet of the entrance.
Only trained service dogs are allowed. Pets and emotional support animals do not qualify.
