(Aurora, Ind.) - A South Dearborn Middle School wrestling coach is accused of Possession of Child Pornography.

Karl Hoffrogge, 20, was arrested over the weekend for three level 6 felony counts in Dearborn County.

The Dillsboro resident was an assistant wrestling coach at the school in Aurora when he allegedly received nude pictures over Facebook from a 12-year-old female member of the school wrestling team he coached.

The investigation began in May when Facebook notified the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, who then contacted the Indiana Crimes Against Children Task Force and Indiana State Police.

A search warrant was obtained for Hoffrogge’s Facebook account. Messages showed the girl had sent him nude images. Hoffroggee allegedly cautioned the girl not to tell anyone about the messages between them as he could go to jail.

Hoffrogge was questioned about the allegations, which he admitted to, according to a court affidavit prepared by state police.

Hoffrogge was arrested Friday. He was released from jail Monday after posting a bond of $750 cash and $5,000 surety, according to jail officials.

The suspect’s current employment status with South Dearborn Community Schools could not be confirmed as school corporation administrators did not respond to an email request for comment Monday.

A level 6 felony charge in Indiana carries a sentence of six months up to 2 ½ years in prison, if convicted.
