(Versailles, Ind.) - Merritt Alcorn is close to calling it a career.
He has served the South Ripley Community Schools for over 40 years by providing legal counsel.
Alcorn was recognized by the South Ripley School Board on Monday night. He received a plaque marking his many years of service to the school corporation.
It was Alcorn's last board meeting as he plans to step away at the end of the year.
The school board thanked him for his excellent service to South Ripley.
