Longtime Ripley County Sheriff's Deputy Passes Away

(Ripley County, Ind.) – The Ripley County community is mourning the death of a longtime public servant.

The Ripley County Sheriff’s Office reported Wednesday the passing of Randy Holt.

Holt served the citizens of Ripley County for more than 30 years as a law enforcement officer.

“He has mentored and trained hundreds of police officers throughout the years. He treated everyone with respect and dignity. Randy was a warrior and a saint and continued to serve until his last breath. Randy was a warrior and a saint and continued to serve until his last breath. His impact on his family, friends, and this community was immeasurable and exceptional. It was an honor to serve with him. Rest easy brother, we will take it from here.”

Visitation will be Monday, September 16 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Meyers Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow on Tuesday, September 17 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Craven Cemetery in Milan.

Memorials can be made to the family in care of the funeral home by bringing to the services or mailing to Meyers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 202, Batesville, IN 47006.
