(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A Lawrenceburg man and Kentucky woman have been accused of dealing methamphetamine.
On February 13, Aurora Police made two arrests in a fast food restaurant parking lot on U.S. 50 in Lawrenceburg, where they located Jeffrey M. Bruce, who had a warrant out for his arrest.
The 25-year-old from Lawrenceburg was apprehended quickly and without incident.
Before being placed in the police cruiser, Bruce yelled out to a passenger in the vehicle he was standing next to, Courtney McCracken, that "the back seat is removable." Deputies asked what that meant, and Bruce responded, "there is a person in there."
Police say they did not find a person behind the back seat, but they did allegedly find 12.6 grams of a crystal-like rocks identified as methamphetamine, two BB handguns, a set of digital scales, a straw, an uncapped syringe, a glass pipe and other drug paraphernalia. Upon arriving at Dearborn County Jail, police say they also located a small baggie containing heroin underneath the seat Bruce was transported on.
Bruce is charged with Attempted Dealing in Methamphetamine (Level 2 felony), Dealing in Methamphetamine (Level 2 felony) and Possession of a Narcotic Drug.
McCracken, 18, of Booneville, Kentucky, is also charged with Attempted Dealing in Methamphetamine (Level 2 felony), Dealing in Methamphetamine (Level 2 felony).
Both are currently being held in the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center.
Bruce is being held on $5,000 cash and $50,000 surety bond out of Circuit Court, consecutive to $5,000 cash bond and $10,000 cash bond out of Superior Court I and Superior Court II, respectively.
McCracken is held on $100,000 surety and $1,500 cash bond.
