(Batesville, Ind.) - On July 1st and 2nd, Kids Discovery Factory hosted the "STEAM on Sycamore" day camp. The children’s museum hosted thirty 1st through 4th grade campers, who spent two exciting days immersed in hands-on activities centered around Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM).

The third annual STEAM on Sycamore camp offered a unique opportunity for students to explore and discover the wonders of STEAM through a variety of engaging projects and time to explore the museum.

The student’s favorite activity harnessed their engineering skills to design and launch their very own stomp rockets. Using their knowledge of beginning chemistry, students built and tested boats powered by chemical reactions, which fostered a deeper understanding of chemical properties and reactions. Geometric Watercolors allowed campers to express their creativity, integrating mathematical concepts with artistic design.

"STEAM on Sycamore" allows young minds to explore the intersections of science, technology, engineering, art, and math. The camp aimed to inspire a passion for learning and innovation, encouraging students to think critically and creatively.

"We are thrilled with the success of this camp and the impact the opportunities have on youth in our community" said Dawn Koch, Museum Educator. "None of this would be possible without the support of our Annual Fund donors." Kids Discovery Factory is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and is supported by many regional foundations, corporations, and individuals in southeastern Indiana. Sponsors are highlighted on the homepage of the museum’s website: www.kidsdiscoveryfactory.org.
