Jury Convicts Man Who Fired Shot At Officers

(Ripley County, Ind.) - A Holton man who fired a shot at police officers during a Ripley County standoff has been convicted of Attempted Murder. Timothy W. Bowman, 49, was shot and taken into custody by Indiana State Police after the standoff at his home in October of 2016. Officers had responded to the home after family members said Bowman pulled a gun on them. Bowman took his case to trial in Ripley Circuit Court. After the seven-day trial, a jury took nine hours to deliberate last Wednesday before returning guilty verdicts on charges of Attempted Murder and Pointing a Firearm.
