(Jennings County, Ind.) - This past weekend, a Commiskey, Indiana woman was arrested on multiple felony charges related to battery on a child after a six-month investigation by investigators with the Indiana State Police-Versailles Post.
In August 2025, Detective Jason Duncan, ISP-Versailles Post, began an investigation after being contacted by the Indiana Department of Child Services after they had been notified of two children that had possibly been battered by Meranda Swim, 29, of Commiskey,
The investigation determined that Swim allegedly recently battered the two children under the age of 14 in Jennings County. At the conclusion of the investigation, the case was presented to the Jennings County Prosecutor’s Office for review. As a result, a warrant was issued for Swim on four counts of Battery on a Child under 14 years of age-Level 6 Felony and one count of Neglect of a Dependent-Level 6 Felony.
Swim was arrested this past weekend without incident and transport to the Jennings County Jail where she was incarcerated, pending her initial appearance in the Jennings County Circuit Court.
