JCD Announces Substantial Pay Increases for Teachers

Teachers will also receive increases in corporation contributions to health care and extracurricular activity stipends.

(Osgood, Ind.) – Jac-Cen-Del Community School Corporation has announced an increase in teacher pay.

The master teacher contract for the 2023-2025 school years was officially ratified by the JCD school board during a special meeting on November 13.

The highlight of the contract is substantial pay increases for teachers and fixing a broken salary scale which makes pay competitive at all levels with surrounding schools.

By the end of the two-year contract, which expires at the conclusion of the 2024-25 school year, teachers will have seen average increases in salary of approximately 15 percent. Teachers will also see a 12 percent increase in corporation contributions to health care and 15 percent in extracurricular activity stipends.

Superintendent Sam Melton stated “The goal of Jac-Cen-Del Community Schools is to be a leader in teacher pay and retention and this first step will go a long way in accomplishing this goal.” “I also want to thank the Jac-Cen-Del School Board and the Jac-Cen-Del Educators Association for their work on this two-year contract,” Melton concluded.
