Commencement will be held this week at the Lawrenceburg Event Center.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Ivy Tech Community College Lawrenceburg/Batesville will celebrate its graduating class of 2026 at its commencement ceremony on Friday, May 8 starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Lawrenceburg Event Center.

The ceremony will recognize graduates of the College’s Schools of Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering & Applied Science; Arts, Sciences & Education; Business, Logistics & Supply Chain; Health Sciences; Information Technology; Nursing; and Public Affairs & Social Services.

This year, the campus will honor nearly 1,000 graduates earning credentials across a wide range of high‑demand programs, including Business Administration, Education, General Studies, Human Services, Industrial Technology, Medical Assisting, Nursing, Psychology, and Software Development.

More than 400 students have completed the Indiana College Core, which is a 30-credit-hour block of general education coursework that high school students can complete to earn a certificate, equivalent to one year of college credit. It is guaranteed to transfer between all Indiana public colleges, universities, and some private institutions.

“Commencement represents the culmination of all the dedication and hard work by our students,” Ivy Tech Lawrenceburg/Batesville Chancellor Mark Graver said. “They have shown resilience and determination as they worked toward their goals. We are honored to celebrate their achievements and confident they will continue to contribute meaningfully to the workforce and the communities we serve.”

During the ceremonies, Graver will welcome students. Graduate Tristan Bruns, who is earning his associate degree in Cloud Technologies from the College’s School of Information Technology, will provide the graduate address.

Shakira Grubbs, Ivy Tech Assistant Vice President for Recruitment and Enrollment Management, will provide remarks from the Office of the Ivy Tech President.

An honorary associate of science degree will be awarded to Paul Ketcham, Assistant Secretary of Education for the Indiana Department of Education.
