By Mike Perleberg (Batesville, Ind.) – RoadSnacks.net is at it again, this time ranking Batesville as one of the snobbiest cities in Indiana. The info-tainment website ranked the top 10 snobby cities with populations of 5,000+ in the Hoosier state based on home prices, income, college degrees, private schools, theaters, and art galleries per capita. Not bias, but “cold hard data” was used according to “in good fun” article author Chris Kolmar. Batesville ranked 5th on the snob list with a median income of $62,250 and a median home price of $184,700. It was the smallest city on the list. “Take for instance the 888 word diatribe on the development of the city on Wikipedia. That’s more words per capita than any other place on this list (Based on my eye test. May not actually be true, but you get the idea),” wrote Kolmar. “And bringing it back to the actual data, Batesville has the fifth most galleries per capita and the ninth highest home prices in Indiana — the most obvious sign of snobbishness.” Here’s the full top 10 from RoadSnacks.net, which was topped by Zionsville, Indiana: Zionsville Carmel Avon Munster Batesville Dyer Chesterton Valparaiso Granger Crown Point RoadSnacks.net recently ranked Aurora and Lawrenceburg as the two "most redneck" cities in Indiana.
