(Indianapolis, Ind.) - Hoping to prevent a repeat of the Indiana State Fair stage tragedy from last summer, the Indiana House has passed a bill to regulate outdoor stage equipment.

The measure passed 92-5 and goes back to the Senate for concurrence to a few changes.

If signed by Governor Daniels, the legislation would require outdoor structures be inspected by an engineer or an architect and be approved by the state fire marshal.

Seven people died when the wind blew over the stage rigging in August before the Sugarland concert.
