(Jackson County, Ind.) - A Holton man is among eight that were arrested last week during an anti-human trafficking and pedophile operation.
Richard Holman Jr., 60 is charged in Jackson County with Child Solicitation (Level 4 Felony) and Attempted Sexual Misconduct with a Minor (Level 4 Felony).
The operation took place at two different locations in Seymour between March 9-11.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, officers using decoy profiles for 15 to 19 year old females.
Approximately seven-thousand messages were sent and received during the operation and police say all eight suspects had intentions of paying for inappropriate actions with teen girls.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Department provided some staggering FBI statistics regarding human trafficking:
- 1 in 25 children ages 10-17 have received an online sexual solicitation where the solicitor has tried to make offline contact.
- 65 percent of online sex offenders used the victim’s social networking site to gain home and school information about the victim.
- 26 percent of online sex offenders used the victim’s social networking site to gain information about the victim’s whereabouts at the time.
