(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg is being recognized for its support of employees who also serve in our country’s armed forces. Employer Support of The Guard and Reserve Patriot Awards were given to three Hollywood employees on Friday. The award from the ESGR, an office of the Department of Defense, documents supervisors and bosses for outstanding support of citizen military serving in the National Guard or Reserve. “We’re a very proud supporter of our service men and women,” says Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg general manager Scott Saunders. “We find it very important to support what they are doing both domestically and overseas. We’re glad that we can contribute to make their lives easier.” Saunders says examples of the casino helping its military member employees include accommodating schedules, contributions to the community, and taking time to recognizing service members at the casino. “What they do I can’t even comprehend how difficult it is. Anything we can do to make their families’ lives easier, to help them sleep a little better knowing that we are helping out anyway we can. We’re just proud to be a part of it.” An ESGR representative handed the awards to employees Michael Bova, Ryan Hartnett and Mark Mason on Friday as co-workers looked and cheered on. Bova, a security manager, began his career at Hollywood in 2008 after a four-year stint in the United States Marine Corps. He has since risen from Security Officer to Manager. In 2012, Bova was recognized as the casino’s Supervisor of the Year. Assistant Security Manager Ryan Hartnett has been a part of the Hollywood team since 2005. Prior to assistant manager, Hartnett fulfilled various roles, including Bike Patrol Security Officer and Security Supervisor. Mark Mason served as co-chair of the transition team, which moved assets from Argosy Casino to the new Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg in 2009. Mason now heads Hollywood’s Security Department as Security Director. Learn more about Employer Support of The Guard and Reserve at www.esgr.mil.
