Pedestrian Struck & Killed by Semi in Greensburg

The incident took place on Thursday afternoon.

(Greensburg, Ind.) - Greensburg Police responded to the intersection of State Road 3 and Freeland Road around 4:00 p.m. Thursday for a report of a pedestrian accident. 

Upon arrival, police located Denver Jones, 69, of St. Paul, who had sustained serious injuries. 

Jones was initially transported to Decatur County Memorial Hospital. He was then airlifted to Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis where he was pronounced deceased. 

The driver of the semi-truck, Rex Hewitt, 53, of Arlington, IN, remained on the scene and is cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation.
